Lee's Corner - Round 2

Where to start? It has been a while since I have posted on here....mainly due to the fact that I have been very busy around the house trying to get things ready for our little girl. Moving furniture from room to room to room to room to room, refinishing her chest-of-drawers/changing table, putting crib together, going shopping with E for baby stuff (ugh), and messing around with the boat ....the last one is more of a stress reliever for me.

I'm still in a little bit of a shock that we are having a girl. I think most guys instinctually want boys but I have given it some thought and am very happy about having a little girl. Unfortunately I am going to have to invest in some smaller artillery (paint ball guns / pellet gun) in about 15 years to keep those nasty boys off of my lawn. (I know Mom, I'm an old man in a young mans body).

I promise that I am going to try and be the best Dad I can and give her everything she deserves as she enters this great big world. I've already resided to the fact that she is going to have me wrapped around her little pinky from day 1.....3 months and counting........

Clemson Football

We got our Clemson Football tickets in the mail this week! Lee & I are both excited about this year, especially to see what Coach Swinney will do! Not sure exactly how many games we will both make it to. I really don't want to sit outside in the heat for too long, so I may not go in for too many games. But, we do have access to A/C at our space, so that's nice. I know for sure we plan on attending the first game of the year.

And, even if you don't wear orange, be sure to remember College Colors Day on Sept. 9 and support your favorite collegiate team. Don't worry about me, I have picked up some orange maternity wear. Go TIGERS!!

Week 25

We are 25 weeks along and only have 15 more to go until we welcome our sweet little girl home. We are busy waiting these days...for the crib furniture, bedding and glider/rocker/recliner chair.

Meanwhile Lee is diligently working to strip paint from a dresser that we purchased and will use as a changing table. This may be the first and last time I convince him that stripping furniture is fun side project. HA! He just might open his checkbook farther the next time I mention furniture refinishing.

A 25 week belly shot for your viewing pleasure!

Here is the bedding that we are waiting on. The Katie collection from Pottery Barn kids. It works perfectly with the existing room color. Now we just have to wait for the items to come off backorder! Thanks LuLu & Vance for the sweet gift! Lee & I both love it!

Sparkman Family Reunion

The summer has flown by and we have spent a lot of time on the road. This past weekend we headed down to Ocean Isle Beach for dinner with my dad's family. It was the 32nd annual Sparkman Family reunion. This is my Moms's family (my dad's mother). She had 5 brothers, for a total of 6 Sparkman siblings. There were about 30 family members all together for a week at the beach, traveling from Lousiana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, North & South Carolina and Georgia!

Here are some family pictures from the weekend.Brother & Sisters

The Boys...it took a while to get this nice photo.

Here are a few before. Wonder where Preston gets his spirited enthusiasm?? Hmmm...

Week 22

We have passed the halfway point and we're growing everyday! We better watch out...our baby girl is really active, especially after I eat ice cream! She's definitely my child!! We have been busy the last few weeks, which really makes the time fly by. We spent July 4th in Hartsville with the Brown's, enjoying the lake, jetski, pool and dinner. We will be headed to Myrtle Beach this weekend to see everyone! Can't wait! Here is a recent picture!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to our dads and granddad's! We just came back from lunch with my dad and Pops in Sneads Ferry. It was nice and hot but a great visit! We were able to share the photos from the most recent ultrasound with everyone. We were also happy to have the O'Berrys join us from Jacksonville - thanks for coming and enjoying the fun!

NURSERY UPDATE:
We have made a little bit of progress on the nursery for the Baby Girl. We have designated the guest room as hers and will be moving the bed and desk out. The "office" & guest room will now be one room. I hope that those who plan on visiting don't mind spending the night with a turkey or a duck or a fish, since these animals also live in what is currently the office. We have purchased a crib. It's from the Young America line made by Stanley. I think that I have decided on a bedding, but we'll see. Here are some pictures:
