Fun in the Sun on the Grand Strand

We hit MB for a little R&R...some sun, fun and time with LuLu, Vance & Preston. We went to the pool twice, the beach thrice, took some walks with the doggies, shopped the outlets and Momma & Daddy even got a date night. And, on the way home we hit a deer. I'd say we did it all in just 4 short days. Here's the highlights:

Ahh!!!

This is the beach at 8am...all to ourselves

Backyard Pool Fun

Gracyn loves her bath...since her first one at home, she just relaxes in the water and enjoys herself. Or course, once we discovered splashing...bathtime become fun. (The night she figured out how to splash the water was the last night we ever bathed in the sink. It was straight up big tub bathing from then on...in her plastic pink tub, of course.)

We just knew she would love a little outdoor water action this summer. So we set-up the kiddy pool and got ready to splash around.

Gotta have my shades.

Some doggy is jealous!
Kisses in the pool...

Splashing around...

And, we're done.

Seven Months

Gracyn, You are 7 months old today. You look like such a big girl in this picture. It's hard to believe how much you have grown, you are learning & experiencing everyday and we have having so much fun with you!

Here's what you've been up to:
Stats: Unsure
Diapers: Stage 3
Clothes: 6mths and a few 6-12mths (Your watermelon outfit is 12mths!)
Food: You have moved onto Stage 2 food like turkey, chicken & beef. You are not a fan of turkey or beef and the chicken is ok. You really like sweet potatoes, pears and apples mixes with anything.
Naps: Still 3 naps a day, although your 5 o'clock naps only lasts 30minutes.

- You are a very strong sitter, reaching to grab things a bit out of reach. You have toppled over a few times. You can stand alone while holding on to something, we practice this a lot in your crib.
- You can reach for and put your bottle to your mouth. We have been practicing with a sippy cup, but you can't hold it up to drink yet. We have tried the sippy cup & cup with a straw, with little success. We are going to wait another month and try again.
- You are sleeping really well in your sleep sack and you have your bunny lovie with you too. We are working on getting rid of your paci.
- Your two bottom teeth are pushing through. We can feel a little bump on your gum. Everything you touch goes straight to the mouth for you to chew on.
- You are making all sorts of noises and "baby-talk" with a lot of dadada, nanana and bababa. No mamama mixed in yet. You will "talk" with Mama, Daddy, Bella and your toys.
- The remote control, cell phone and tv are really attention getters. You will really move to get the remote or cell phone if it's out of your reach!

UPDATE: We were @ LuLu & Vance's in the outdoor pool (aka...the dog's wash tub) and you pulled-up from sitting. You were so proud when you realized what you had done. Then after about 10 seconds, you couldn't figure out how to get down and got very nervous. Once you figured out how to sit back down you repeated this fun trick over and over again!

Gracyn's Baptsim

Gracyn Elizabeth Galloway was baptized Sunday, May 30 at St. Andrew's Covenant Presbyterian Church by Rev. Rob Lapp. Ann Benson was the elder who lead the congregation through the ceremony. We shared the day with LuLu & Vance, Aunt Sara Vance, ShuShu, Grandpa Charles, Vicki, Jay, Emily & Joseph. It was wonderful to have her family with us on this special day. Gracyn wore the same gown that LuLu, Sara Vance & I wore, which was extra special.

Gracyn stayed in big church through the entire service, we only heard laughter from her towards the end. "She performed beautifully" her Pops Shields reported!

Afterwards, we had a delicious BBQ lunch to celebrate! Gracyn napped during lunch so we don't have any pictures with her! She did so well with a shorter morning nap than usual.

Bath time!
Sitting pretty with LuLu.
Outside the church right before the 11am service.
Auntie Sara makes me smile!

Auntie Sara Visits

Auntie Sara came a day early for Gracyn's baptism. She was playing smart, coming early to get a little extra face time with Miss Gracyn. She's a smart auntie for sure!

She brought a new toy and a few new dresses that are perfect for summer. Here are a few pics from her photoshoot with the little lady.
