11 Months

Dear Gracyn,

You are 11 Months old. Wow! In just a few weeks I will have to type 1 year. I can't believe it has almost been 365 that you've been our daughter. You are such a happy, smart, funny and BUSY little girl. I've been holding out on this post hoping for a picture perfect photo to share, but things just haven't been going my way. So, I'm keeping it real, with this series of photos. Here's what you've been up to:

Stats: weight - 18lbs, 14.5oz :: Length - 29inches
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes: 9-12 months
Teeth: Still 2 bottom and 2 top (I think you are the slowest teether ever!)

Sleeping: You have had several long nights since having an ear infection and teething. You are still a great sleeper, when napping at home. You take long uninterrupted naps, sometimes for 2.5 hours. You're still adjusting to napping at daycare.

Favorite Foods: You've really been enjoying squash: yellow squash, butternut squash and acorn squash!

New skills:

You're walking! You started walking on Oct. 2nd and in 12 days you've had an ear infection, had 3 top teeth come through and collected more goose-eggs on the forehead / check region than we can count. You like to walk with something in your mouth or in your hands, not really the safest way to go. Daddy doesn't like this at all - he's your safety patroller!

You love books, especially ones with flaps or parts that move. You're not a fan of hairbows.
You have figured out how to point your finger, which leads to picking your nose. You like to put your dirty hands in your hair after you eat, which makes for a hard hair wash at bath time.

You love Daddy and Bella...this is a fun game you play together.

You do not like to sit still. You are constantly moving, observing, talking and laughing.

Words: Mama, Dada, Do (point to Bella), Oh (Uh-oh after you fall down)

10 Months

Gracyn,

You are 10 months old, well really 10.5 months since it's Sept. 19. You turned 10 months on Sept. 3, which was Labor Day weekend and the beginning of a few very tough days for you. You were cutting your top 4 teeth, so we started the holiday weekend off with a fever of 101 and a sleepless night, followed by several days of little eating & sleeping. You did get 2 top teeth in, they are on the sides so you officially have fangs. Kinda goes along with your spirited personality!

Aside from those rough few days, you have had a wonderful month filled with lots of fun. Here's a recap of what you've been up to.

Stats:

Weight: Still 18ish lbs (no dr's appt. this month)
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes: 6-12 months (your 6month onesies still fit!)
Teeth: 2 on top, fang style!

Sleeping: You are really sleeping well. Since we started daycare 3 days per week, we have adjusted bedtime to 7:30p because you don't nap well and are really tired when you get home! It seems to be working out well and you enjoy your bedtime routine of dinner, bottle, bath, storytime and then light's out. Aside from a few nights of waking up from your teeth, you sleep from 7:30p - 7:00a.

Favorite Foods: You are a really good eater and have begun to insist on feeding yourself. So far you have added grilled chicken, pancakes, avocado and fresh fruit. Last weekend we went to lunch after church and we ordered for you off the kids menu - fresh fruit & a biscuit. You did so good...we were so proud of your eating & table manners!

Some of your tricks, You can:
- Crawl fast, pull to stand and stand alone
- Love books and will pull them all out and then flip through them one-by-one, page-by-page. I love that you love books and hope that you will love to read, just like Mommy.
- Make touchdown hand signal
- Clap
- Take Bella's chew sticks away from her when she snags one of your toys.

You are becoming a good communicator with grunts, groans, screams and smiles. Your facial expressions are priceless, where did you get that from?! Ha. We see this scowling face a lot...you would have a lot of personality...that's a given, right.

You love your doggie and she is usually pretty nice to you!

I can not believe that the next monthly post will be 11 months, one month away from your first birthday. You are such a joy and I treasure every moment with you:
-rocking you at 3am even though I'm exhausted,
- wiping your runny nose while you scream at me,
- holding you in my lap while you hold your own bottle and praying you will fit there forever!

~xoxo, Mama

Weekend Getaway

Aunt Sara took some great photos during our weekend getaway to Myrtle Beach. We packed in tons of snuggles, kisses, reading, crawling, playing, swimming and shopping!
This toy was Prestons growing up and Gracyn loved it. The little car starts at the top and travels all the way to the bottom, she was captivated.
We are pulling to stand and getting into things. Usually it's the trashcan, bathtub, toilet or shelf on the kitchen island. But at LuLu & Vance's she can get into books, which is great!

Swimming with Daddy!
We took a little time out to have a visit with the dentist. How lucky are we to go in our PJs?!

This is the view that we see a lot these days, Gracyn crawling away! It's amazing how fast she is growing and changing, she learns something new everyday. I just can't believe it!
