I'm 1 Week Old!

We are a few days behind on this, but things have been a bit busy. Our first week has been a lot of fun, full of sleep deprivation, long nights and lots of love for our little girl.

Here's what we've been up to:
- Lee, Gracyn & I came home to join our family on Thursday, Nov. 5.
- We celebrated my birthday on Sunday, Nov. 8.
- And, we went to the Dr. for her 1 week appt. on Monday.
She was 11% under her birth-weight and had to go back in for a weight check on Tues. and on Friday she was at 7.55lbs or 8% of her birth-weight.

Gracyn, here's what you've been up to this week:
- Eating every 2 to 3 hours, with really great sleep in between
- Pretty incredible neck strength and will pull up when being burped or held
- You love to suck your hands and fingers, when they are available
- You love to swing and sit in your bouncing chair during nap time
- And, you love to snuggle up on Mom & Dad's neck for a nap.

Happy 1st week sweet girl!

Tiny Victories

Today we are celebrating one week with Gracyn, our tiny victories and realizing we have a lot to be thankful for. These tiny toes of our precious little girl are a week old today. It's amazing the life change that we have had over the past 7 days. Here are just a few...
Tiny licks from her big sister Bella,
Sitting in her bouncing chair that she hated just a few days ago,
And, swinging.
In the scheme of things, this may not be a lot. But around here these tiny little moments are a GIANT treasure for Mom & Dad.

The cutest cheerleader on the block.

A day in the life of a 4-day old is pretty much the same –– eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep and diaper changes. It's amazing - the entire world has stopped around Lee & I as we care for this little bundle of love, with lots of love, hugs, kisses and snuggles. But, time is stopped in our house tonight and we are all tuned into ESPN to watch our Clemson Tigers play Florida St.

Lee's cheering is a bit restrained by the newest cheerleader in town.

WELCOME GRACYN ELIZABETH GALLOWAY!

Gracyn Elizabeth Galloway was born on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1:35am. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21" long.
We were admitted into the hospital on Sunday evening around 9:00pm and we technically began laboring around 1:00am Monday morning. 24 hours later we were blessed with our little bundle of love, Gracyn Elizabeth. Both Mama and Gracyn are healthy and doing well. Daddy is still trying to adjust to 2 hours of sleep per day.

Week 38 and 6 days

Here we are Sunday, Nov. 1 at 38 weeks and 6 days. It has been a great weekend of Tiger football (winning against Coastal Carolina), downtime at home, homemade Chocolate Chip cookies and waiting on our little lady to arrive.

Stay tuned.

Week 39

We had our 38 Week Doctor's appt. today. Everything looked really good, size measured fine and heartbeat was in the 130s. I'm still only 1cm dilated, so that was a bit of a bummer. I did mention that I felt less activity over the past few days, so they set us up for an ultrasound. Lee & I did not complain one bit and we had a chance to see our little lady again.

She is just fine–moving around really well. She has strong fetal breathing, which we learned is the diaphragm moving. And, just for Lee, it's still confirmed - It's a Girl! He has been quite concerned that she would be a he and have to wear pink for the first few days in the world.

Here's to 2 more weeks...Stay tuned.
